Kacper Górecki: jak obsesja stworzyła imperium spławikowe

Kacper Górecki: how obsession created a float empire

We talked to Kacper Górecki about how float fishing obsession, luck, and mentoring built his career. No YouTube comments, no influencers.

Go against the current

It's the middle of the night. Kacper stands by the water, knowing he'll be there again tomorrow. Obsession is a word that echoes throughout our conversation like a refrain.

We spoke with a man who built a fishing empire by doing the exact opposite of what everyone advised. He turned off YouTube comments. He doesn't collaborate with influencers. He publishes 10 videos a year, while others upload daily.

Yet – or perhaps precisely because of it – he became a legend of Polish float fishing. His story is a lesson in how obsession combined with luck and mentors can transform not only a life but an entire industry.

Kacper has a radical business philosophy. He never made an offer of collaboration to an influencer. Nor did he ever accept one.

"All my collaborations look exactly like this – if I see that someone has been showcasing our groundbaits or using my floats for a year, it's natural for me to want to give it to them."

This is the purest form of the gratitude economy. But Kacper warns against a trend we're seeing. "Now everyone knows you have to create content, you have to show, you have to share knowledge. But when I was doing it, I didn't know that."

In his opinion, collaborations build dependence, not independence. And in a time when everyone is going in one direction, he consciously chooses the opposite.

Success lies in simplicity

We learned a story that sounds like a movie script. Michał Paczkowski – a friend who literally forced Kacper to start a company. "You quit everything and I'll help you, I'll set up a company for you," he said when Kacper already had advanced plans for his doctorate.

But the real breakthrough came from meeting Zbyszek Milewski. "Zbyszek showed me how simple everything is. And I was somewhat lost, reading catalogs, fishing magazines, and looking for a miracle."

It was a lesson that changed everything. Success lies in simplicity. Not in magic lures or miraculous mixes, but in understanding fish behavior. In thinking, not in gear.

Today, Kacper has a company employing five people. A small but effective machine built on foundations he laid over a decade ago.

Detachment from compliments and immense respect for viewers

YouTube was an accident. Kacper started filming as a diary – for himself, not for viewers. "My entire channel is a very personal approach. I do it primarily for myself."

That's why he turned off comments almost from the beginning. "To be fully yourself, it's better to be far away from all that. All those compliments absolutely don't have a good effect – if I had to say, it's slightly negative."

The result? The channel is 15 years old, has millions of views, and a community that treats him like a guru. But for Kacper, it's still a diary. "I have dozens of unreleased videos. I could upload them, but I don't want to waste people's time."

He publishes 10-12 videos a year. In an era of daily vlogs, this is a revolution. But it's this quality over quantity that built his position.

Rivalry with fish. Not with anglers

Sports psychology without a psychologist. Kacper himself developed an approach that mental trainers teach for years. "I don't compete with competitors. I compete with fish."

At the highest level of competition, no one feels rivalry among anglers. "The lower the level of competition, the greater the rivalry among anglers. The higher the level, the rivalry is with the fish."

This is a crucial difference. Focusing on the process, not the outcome. "For me, it doesn't matter if it's this competition or that. It's the same emotions, everything is the same."

But reaching this level took years. "I lost many competitions because of my head. If I had today's mindset with those skills, I would have won many competitions."

Educating the youngest first

Kacper's future vision is educating children. But not in the way we know. "I believe there should be no Grand Prix of Poland for children. There should be a ban on pole fishing for children."

His vision is for balanced competitions. Every child gets the same equipment, the same worms, the same groundbait. One supervisor for four children. "So that everyone has the same set, for example, one supervisor for four competitors, who helps everyone."

It's about instilling a love for fishing, not competition. "I see young competitors with a drive for competition, not for fishing. That has no future."

Kacper dreams of children starting with whips and waggler rods, not poles. "Pole fishing is an extremely primitive fishing method. With a whip, you have to hit the target, the wind already bothers you."

FAQ

Why did Kacper turn off comments on YouTube?

To stay true to himself and not be influenced by compliments, which he believes have a "slightly negative" effect on him – they intimidate and discourage him.

How did he build his company without marketing?

By sharing knowledge and building an economy of gratitude – customers buy from him because he first helped them develop as anglers.

Is float fishing really dying in Poland?

No – according to Kacper, it has always been niche and demanding. The impression that it's dying comes from the fact that float anglers show themselves less online than feeder or carp anglers.

What are his plans for the future?

Educating children in float fishing, but with an emphasis on the process and fun, not on competition and sporting results.

Summary

We spoke with a man who proved that you can build an empire by doing everything against trends. Kacper Górecki didn't need influencers, daily vlogs, or comments under videos. Kacper above all stayed true to himself and clung to his strategy. Consistency is probably the best word.

He needed obsession, luck, and mentors. His story is a lesson for anyone who wants to build something lasting – focus on the process, not the results. Share knowledge selflessly. Go against the current.

We felt this was one of the most important conversations about building a personal brand in fishing. Because it shows that authenticity and long-term thinking still win over algorithms and artificial collaborations.

Kacper to legenda w wieku 40 lat.
